The practice is led by Dr. Victor Urzola, supported by a dedicated anesthesiology team and a patient coordinator. Together they manage the surgical, anesthetic and logistical aspects of care from the first enquiry through follow-up.
Dr. Urzola earned his Doctor of Medicine at UNIBE in Costa Rica (1995 to 2000) and completed his plastic-surgery residency at the University of Milan (2001 to 2006). He holds a diploma in microsurgery from France (2005), which underpins the tissue-sparing technique applied in his explant work.
He completed fellowships in facial cosmetic surgery in France and in body-contouring in Hackensack, New Jersey, and undertook continuing study in genomics at Stanford (2019 to 2020), which informs his approach to breast implant illness. He has sixteen years in practice, holds Costa Rican medical licence MED 6540, and is a past President of the Costa Rican Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (ACCPRE). He treats patients in Spanish, English, Italian and French.
“The standard is a complete, methodical explant: total capsulectomy, en-bloc where the tissue allows, and pathology on every capsule. It does not change from one patient to the next.”
Every procedure is supported by a dedicated anesthesiology team and a patient coordinator. Each has a defined role across the surgical, anesthetic and coordination aspects of care.
An attending anesthesiologist at Hospital México from 2008 to 2017, Dr. Masis directs intra-operative anesthetic care and monitoring during surgery.
Dr. Morera Martinelli holds Costa Rican medical licence #7391 and provides anesthetic care with a focus on closely monitored recovery following surgery.
Dra. Cedeño is part of the dedicated anesthesiology team, providing continuous anesthetic care and monitoring through surgery and recovery.
Paola is the patient coordinator and the practice's first point of contact for international patients. She manages scheduling, communication and travel logistics from the initial enquiry through return home.
Dr. Urzola holds active membership in the principal international and regional bodies for plastic and aesthetic surgery, reflecting ongoing peer review and adherence to shared standards of practice.

Verifiable credentials are particularly relevant when surgery is undertaken abroad. They allow the surgeon's training, examination and standing to be confirmed with the issuing institutions in advance. Each qualification listed is documented, and the original diplomas and licences are available for review on request.
Every consultation is reviewed personally by Dr. Urzola. Enquiries are confidential and carry no obligation.
